My Chumby’s Fish!

Chumby takes your favorite parts of the Internet and delivers them to you in a friendly, always on, always-fresh format. Bruno Fosi takes this idea a step further with his My Chumbys fish online. It’s a way of caring for someone else’s aquarium remotely when they are away. The idea was inspired the Heart, which constantly craves the company of friends and loved ones. Using Chumby’s hardware its possible to feed and maintain your friend’s aquarium remotely. The concept boasts of a colorful touch screen that allows you to feed your friend’s fish and maintain a healthy aquarium. Fitted with sensors on the robot, the system monitors the habitat and the data and analysis is reported back to you online.

To guide you through the maintenance process there is an automated menu for tasks, configurations and real-time webcam. The Chumby’s built-in accelerometer, compression sensors and microphone allow you to interact with the fishes in a more realistic way. Using the captured shakes and tap movements its possible to simulate the aquarium with vibrations and air bubbles. The Compression sensors radiate heat and light, making the fish more comfortable. Overall it’s a system that allows you to be there for the fish, without physically being present.
