An app for flight ticket bargain hunters

SET YOUR BUDGET: The FlightLover Malaysia app allows you to set your budget and have it alert you when ticket prices fall within your budget.

PETALING JAYA: If you are always in the hunt for cheap flight deals, FlightLover Malaysia is a new application for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad that provides an easy way to browse flights from all major budget airlines.

The application lets users track the lowest budget airline ticket prices from AirAsia, Firefly, Jetstar, Lion Air, Cebu Pacific and Tiger Airways, over a four month period to over 70 destinations that include cities like Bangkok, Hong Kong and Taipei.

Ticket prices listed are also inclusive of taxes but the cost for check-in luggage is not included. The app features a simple interface with the main page showing the latest bargains.

Users need to select their destination, set number of days for their trip and book the flight by calling the airlines. At the moment, the application does not offer direct online booking.

BUDGET FLIGHTS: The FlightLover Malaysia app allows you to check flight ticket prices but there is no option for direct booking for now.


Considering that budget airline ticket prices fluctuate on a daily basis, FlightLover provides an easy way to keep track of all the best deals with its daily alerts feature, the app developer Handstand said. Travellers will get a notification from the app whenever the prices to their destination falls within their budget. Users can also share the deals that they find on FlightLover with friends on Facebook, Twitter or via e-mail.

FlightLover Malaysia is available in the App Store now and is currently on sale for a limited time for US$2.99 (RM9). The regular price is US$4.99 (RM15).
